Group Tour Instructions and Notes for the Expedition

Dear honored Guest,

To ensure a safe scientific expedition, Sinopec International Travel Service Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as SITS) hereby advise you of issues and safety matters that should be paid attention to during this journey. Please read it carefully.

I Notes for enrolling in the group tour

1. Please take care to choose the research route according to your interest, schedule and physical condition. Please note that the contracted route should be consistent with the product or route you have consulted and confirmed.

2. Pregnant women or tourists suffering from severe hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, physical disability or mental illness should not join this tour group.

3. Application period and the agreed breach penalty

(1) The registration deadline is August 20th, 2023.

(2) The minimum number of participants for this tour is 20. If there are less than 20 participants, SITS has the right to cancel it and the host will notify the participants at least seven days in advance and refund all the fees collected.

(3) If the participants cancels the order 30 days (inclusive) to 20 days (exclusive) before departure, the breach penalty is 50% of the total expense of the scientific expedition; 80% from 20 (inclusive) to 15 (exclusive) days before departure; 100% from 15 days (inclusive) before departure to the day of departure.

(4) In any of the following circumstances, SITS has the right to cancel the Service Agreement:

A.Those who suffering from diseases, such as infectious diseases, that may endanger the health and safety of other participants;

B.Those who carrying objects that endanger public security and refusing to hand them over to the relevant departments;

C.Those who engaging in illegal or immoral activities;

D.Those who engaging in activities that seriously affect the rights and interests of other participants and being deaf to advice;

E.Other circumstances stipulated by laws and regulations.

Due to the above circumstances, SITS has the right to cancel the service agreement, notify the participants on paper or by mail, and deduct all the expense.

(5) If the participants do not follow the advice or tips of SITS and the tour guide, and thus affect the team’s itinerary and cause loss to SITS, they shall bear the corresponding liability for compensation.

(6) Any loss caused by the participants’ personal activities beyond the contract shall be borne by themselves.

(7) If, due to the fault of the participants, the travel agency, the performance assistants, the tourism service providers or others suffer damage, the participants shall compensate for the losses.

(8) The participants should take measures to prevent the extension of losses during scientific expedition or in the settlement of disputes; otherwise, they shall bear the corresponding liabilities.

(9) If the participants violate the safety warnings, or fail to cooperate with the Chinese measures to temporarily restrict tourist activities in response to major emergencies, safety precautions and emergency measures, causing losses to the travel agency, they shall bear the corresponding responsibilities according to law.

(10) The travel agency shall not be liable for the failure to complete the scientific research project or perform it as agreed due to the reasons of the participants themselves, or the personal damage or property loss caused to the participants.

(11) If the personal and property rights and interests of the participants are damaged during the activities arranged by themselves, SITS shall not be liable for compensation if it has fulfilled the obligation of warning and explanation in advance and necessary rescue obligation afterwards.

(12) SITS shall not be liable for compensation if the personal and property rights and interests of the participants are damaged due to the third-party damage or other reasons not attributable to SITS.

(13) SITS will assist the participants to claim compensation from the public transport operator if they should bear the responsibility according to law for personal damage and property loss caused by the public transport operator.

(14) If the participants fail to arrive at the assembly point at the agreed time or join the tour group during the journey, it shall be deemed that the participants voluntarily give up the scientific expedition, and all relevant fees shall not be refunded.

(15) Both SITS and the participants have the right to cancel the agreement, if the tour schedule is affected by force majeure, and unavoidable events despite the reasonable care obligation has been fulfilled by the performance assistants; If the contract cannot be fully performed and the participants disagrees with the modification, the contract can be terminated. If so, SITS shall refund the remaining amount to the participants after deducting the non-refundable fees and fees paid to the local agency or the performance assistants.

4. The column of health condition on the forms should be filled out as things really are when registration. The participants who are elderly or in poor health should get permission from their doctors and family members in advance, travel in a group and prepare medicines. Patients suffering from heart disease, hypertension, lung and blood system diseases should not choose the travel route of plateau region (Sichuan). Your family members and you are responsible for any consequences arising from your own reasons.

5. According to the relevant requirements for the elderly over 65[inclusive] years old ), the following commitments are required: The participant and his/her relatives should be aware that he/she is physically fit for this expedition and is able to complete this journey. If the participant fails to tell the truth about his/her health condition or conceals it according to the requirements of SITS. If elderly diseases (heart attack, myocardial infarction, etc.) occur during the journey, the tourists themselves shall bear all the responsibility and costs arising therefrom, which has nothing to do with SITS, land operator, local guide, and tour guide.

In the process of expedition, participants have the right to give up the scenic spots or activities that are prohibited to the elderly; All consequences arising from the participants’ insistence on participating shall be borne by themselves. During the expedition, if the participants cannot continue to complete the journey due to physical discomfort or other reasons and need the assistance of SITS to return in advance or seek medical treatment, the participants shall bear all responsibilities and all costs.

The above commitment content is the true intention of the participants themselves and their relatives. The participants have informed their relatives of this commitment and obtained their consent. SITS has fully informed the participants themselves and their relatives of the terms of this commitment letter and the adverse reactions that may occur due to regional differences and how hard the journey is .

6. SITS has purchased Travel Agency Liability Insurance, which only covers the compensation liability that SITS should bear according to law, not individual travel insurance. SITS reminds you that purchasing short-term insurance can protect your life, body, property or related interests during your overseas travel, especially travel accident insurance and emergency rescue insurance. Those who are elderly or suffering from heart disease, diabetes and other accidents may occur are required to purchase accident insurance that includes emergency rescue. Those who participate in high-risk projects during the journey should purchase special project accident insurance.

7. Please note that after the accident, please inform us travel agency and insurance company in time, seek medical treatment in the local hospital or report to the police, and keep the original records or diagnosis and treatment certificates, so as to apply for compensation to the insurance company within the effective date. Otherwise, the claim recovery is invalid.

8. Please fill in the registration form/contract carefully and confirm your name and ID number. If the ticket or other errors are caused by you own fault, you are responsible for your own lose.

9. Passports, mainland residents’ permits for travel to and from Hong Kong and Macao, Taiwan and China visas are documents applied by tourists themselves. When submitting these documents to travel agency, please ensure that they are valid for at least half a year. Otherwise, the tourists shall bear the losses caused by them.

10. Group tickets are team discount tickets that in accordance with the airline company’s three rules, that is: “No change, no transfer, no refund”. If you decide to cancel or change it, you shall bear its and other losses. As for E-ticket, the airline company only provides the itinerary, not any other written proof of loss. Some group ticket flight numbers cannot be confirmed in advance, subject to final issue.

11. SITS generally can not guarantee the flight or train seat position, or bunk position, if you have special requirements for seat location, please inform us in advance, SITS will try to coordinate; if it fails to meet your requirements, you have to solve it on your own.

12. Granting exit or entry is the administrative power of the relevant authorities. If your visa is rejected or entrance prohibited due to the your own reasons, relevant responsibilities and losses shall be borne by you.

13. If you need to quit or breach the contract, SITS will charge the corresponding loss fee or liquidated damages according to the contract.

14. A contract agreement must be signed when registering for the scientific expedition organized by SITS or accepting any substantial proxy service.

II Notes before the group tour

1. In case of force majeure or unavoidable events that the travel agency and the performing assistant have done their duty of reasonable care before departure, both parties have the right to cancel the journey or postpone it after consultation. If the journey is canceled, 50% of the total amount of scientific expedition expenses will be deducted from 30 days (inclusive) to 20 days (exclusive) before departure; 80% from 20 (inclusive) to 15 (exclusive) days before departure; 100% from 15 days (inclusive) before departure to the day of departure. %;出发前20日(含)至15日(不含)为80%;出发前15日(含)至当日为100%。

2. Please read the notice carefully or make sure you understand the information about this group tour, and arrive at the assembling place within the fixed time. Bring your passport or relevant valid documents with you; If you are unable to board or miss your flight/train due to your own reasons, the loss shall be borne by yourself.

3. Prepare personal items: such as sneakers, sunscreen, sun hat, umbrella, sunglasses, slippers, plug converter, etc. Hotels in some areas do not provide disposable toiletries, please prepare by yourself.

4. Check your health in advance and bring your own medication: bandages, band-aids, pain relief cream, cold and flu medicine, motion sickness medicine, anti-diarrhoea medicine, anti-inflammatory medicine, essential balm, stomachic tonic, anti-allergy medicine, etc.

5. Please pack your luggage appropriately to ensure the safety of your luggage and belongings during the journey.

III Notes during the group tour

1. In case of force majeure or unavoidable events affecting the travel itinerary that the travel agency and the performing assistant have performed their duty of reasonable care, the following methods shall be adopted:

(1) If the scientific investigation project cannot be fully carried out, SITS is allowed to change the contents of the investigation within a reasonable range after making explanations to the participants and get permission from them. Therefore, the increased expenses shall be borne by the participants and the reduced expenses shall be returned to the participants.

(2) If the personal and property safety of the participants are endangered, SITS shall take corresponding safety measures, and the expenses incurred shall be borne by the participants.

(3) SITS shall take corresponding resettlement measures if the participants are stranded. Therefore, the additional cost shall be borne by the participants.

2. Certificates/plane, car, boat tickets

(1) Your passport is the only valid proof of your identity. Losing it will cause great trouble. The passport must be kept by yourself. If you lose your passport, you can seek help from the tour guide to reapply for it. However, you should bear all the losses and the cost of changing the ticket.

(2) Documents and valuables, such as passport, ID card, air ticket, computer, mobile phone, cash, check, original invitation letter, etc., must be taken with you and properly safeguarded, and must not be put in the checked baggage, which must be tightly packed and locked.

3. Transportation

(1) Due to many factors, the delay or cancellation of public transport such as plane and train may lead to losses, which shall be carried out according to the plan provided by the airline and railway company, and SITS shall not be liable for compensation. Please cooperate with the team leader or tour guide to avoid further loss. If you refuse to take the vehicle or refuse to leave them, you will be responsible for any damage or loss caused.

(2) Buckle your seat belt, do not use mobile phones and other electronic devices on the plane, and do not walk around randomly on the plane.

(3) According to civil aviation regulations, liquids, lighters, nail clippers, etc., can not be carried on the person and must be checked. It is prohibited to carry inflammable and explosive materials, controlled knives and other dangerous goods on board.

(4) Do not hold your hands on the door frame when walking inside the carriage, so as to avoid injury caused by driving or sudden emergency braking; Do not smoke in the carriage, luggage should be taken care of, to prevent theft at night; Sleep with the windows closed so as not to catch cold.

(5) Pay attention to the escalator when taking the plane or bus, stand firm at the step, pay attention to bumpy roads and emergency brakes to avoid sprain or fall injury. Do not change your seat or stand or walk while the vehicle is moving. Do not stick your head and feet out of the window. Pay attention to the direction of the coming bus when getting on and off, so as to avoid danger.

(6) When the plane (train) arrives at the destination, please do not leave the plane (train) in a hurry and forget your belongings.

(7) If you have motion sickness and poor lumbar spine, please explain to the tour guide and driver in advance, and try to sit near the front of the tour bus.

4. Hotels

(1) When using items in the room, check whether they are free or not. If using non-free items, please read the price tag. TV channels are charged in some hotels, please consult the front desk of the hotel in advance. Please take good care of the hotel’s belongings and compensate for any damage according to the price.

(2) Getting in or out of the hotel room, please lock the doors and windows. Do not open the door randomly or let strangers into the room to avoid being cheated.

(3) Documents, passports, cash, and other valuables can be deposited in the safe box of the hotel or be taken with you. Do not store the valuables in the hotel room, luggage, or tour bus.

(4) Before bathing, you should put the anti-slip mat in place to prevent slipping and falling, and watch out for the ground and bathtub.

(5) During the free activities, it is best to go with a group. Before leaving the hotel, you should contact the tour leader and guide, keep your mobile phone on, and bring the name card of the hotel with you to avoid getting lost. If there is an accident, you should always contact the tour leader and guide first.

(6) Before checking out, please check all your belongings, and pay special attention to your credentials and valuables. Bath towels, towels, hand towels, ashtrays and other items equipped in the room are not allowed to be carried out.

5. Scenic spots

(1) Please remember the meeting point, time, license plate number and phone number of your tour guide or leader. In case you get lost, please wait at the meeting point, or contact your tour guide and leader.

(2) It is not allowed to leave the group without permission. If you want to do that, please get the permission from your national guide and tour guide. To avoid accidents, you need to bring with you the address of your local hotel, the number of the national guide and the tour guide. When participating in the expedition, you should follow the instructions of your leader or guide, and keep an eye on where your team is going so as not to fall behind. During the expedition, group members should respect and understand each other and cooperate with the leader and guide. If there is any illegal behavior, the leader and guide have the right to stop or take corresponding measures.

(3) If you suffer from fatigue, sweating, dizziness, dizziness, palpitation, and other symptoms during the expedition, you should take a rest in time and not insist. Elderly people suffering from cardiovascular disease should strengthen their self-protection. Get enough rest and sleep during the expedition. If you feel uncomfortable, you should contact your leader and guide in time to get rescue and treatment at the first time.

(4) Please walk on the inside of the mountain road and mind your step. Remember “walk without enjoying scenery, and enjoy scenery without walking”. Follow the guide to avoid dangerous routes. To avoid accidents, do not crowd when taking photos.

(5) Keep the environment clean. Do not litter. Do not smoke in non-smoking areas. To prevent scratching and biting, do not throw food to animals.

(6) Please pay attention to ethnic taboos and respect local customs when visiting indigenous areas.

(7) Due to the weather and many other objective factors, the tour guide or leader has the right to temporarily adjust the order of the scenic spots. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

6. Tips for diet

(1) During the expedition, do not patronize roadside unlicensed stalls, do not eat unclean and cold food to prevent viral hepatitis, dysentery, typhoid, and other enteric viruses. SITS will not be responsible for any gastrointestinal diseases caused by eating unclean food and seafood without permission.

(2) Please contact your guide in advance if you have special dietary requirements, so that he/she can better arrange your meals.

(3) SITS will not be responsible for any problems with your own food (food not arranged by SITS).

7. Tips for shopping

(1) Do not show and count your bank notes in public when shopping.

(2) Do not forget to ask the store cashier for a complete invoice and proof of purchase when shopping.

(3) When shopping at small stalls, think carefully before bargain with the vendors. Do not bargain with the vendor if you have no intention to buy.

(4) When buying valuables or medicine, please pay attention to the quantity, authenticity, and quality. ISTS will not be responsible for any losses caused by yourself.

IV Notes for free activities

1. The free time and activities specified in the itinerary before the start and after the end of the examination and in the itinerary are free activities, SITS is not responsible for any accidents or losses that may occur during this period. During the free activity, the consultations or suggestions given by the tour leader and guide are for reference only, which is not arranged by SITS. Accidents and losses caused by your personal activities will be borne by yourselves.

2. SITS does not organize high-risk projects, and solemnly reminds the participants to carefully participate in racing, horseback riding, rock climbing, gliding, adventure, rafting, diving, swimming, skiing, skating, skateboarding, skydiving, hot air balloon, bungee jumping, surfing, close contact with wild animals and so on. If you voluntarily choose such high-risk activities during the free activities, therefore caused personal injury or property loss would be on your own.

3. Please fully understand the content of all activities that you voluntarily participate in during the free time and strictly abide by the relevant safety regulations. It is recommended that you take the initiative to purchase relevant insurance. SITS is not responsible for any accidents that occur during this process.

4. Without the permission of your guide or leader, please do not leave the group and do activities on your own, and SITS will not be responsible for any losses caused by this.SITS has the right to hold accountable for your forcible departure.

5. With the permission of the tour guide or leader, please choose your activities within a controllable range of risk and be responsible for your own safety during self-arranged activities. Sinopec International Travel Service will not be responsible for any possible personal or property damage caused by yourselves during this period.

V Notes after the group tour

1. If there is still an increase or decrease in expenses and no formal invoice has been issued, please settle in time.

2. If you have any complaints about this expedition, please contact the business personnel or manager of SITS in time. We will be responsible and actively help you to coordinate and solve potential remaining problems.
